Music Analysis
Everyday I will listen to and analyze sections of iconic music albums from all genres and time periods to broaden my knowledge of music.
Today I listened to Bruch's Violin Concerto and Hillary Hahn was the lead soloist. It was beautiful and I want to listen to more of her work.

Today I took a break from Cole Porter and started listening to Vivaldi's "Four Seasons." It's a bit shrill for my taste and it's not my most favorite piece but I don't hate it.
Today I found a list of the ten best Cole Porter songs and I intend to listen to them. Cole Porter was a musician from the 20's who loved to write musicals and was fascinated by Paris. I adore him.
Today I finished the Lemonade album. It wasn't really my style of music but I did enjoy it; it was interesting to get inside of Beyonce's head. I'm not sure which album I'm going to analyze next but I think it's going to be something from the 50's or maybe Cole Porter.
Today I continued to listen Beyonce's album, Lemonade.
Today I listened to the first 5 songs on Beyonce's album, Lemonade. I'm noticing a theme...she seems very angry and hurt because someone cheated on her. Because of prior knowledge I know that it was her husband, Jay Z and it was a really big deal when this information was released. This album is her version of the story; it's like reading her diary.
Today I finished Dvorak's "New World" symphony and I can honestly say that it was one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard. Overall, the piece had a light tone to it with bursts of intense, climatic music. For the next music I analyze I'm going in a completely different direction...I'm going to listen to Beyonce's album, Lemonade.
Today I will begin to listen to and analyze Dvorak's "New World" Symphony.
